The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its annual Women's Basketball Academic All-District team Tuesday morning, with Carroll landing the maximum of four players on the list. Seniors
Olivia Rangel and
Chloe Halverson, and juniors
Natalie Gricius and
Emilie Wizner each earned the distinction after helping the Pioneers to their fourth consecutive season of at least 17 wins and a second consecutive appearance in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship Game.
Rangel, who was also named CCIW Player of the Year, unanimous First Team All-Conference, All-Region, and Third-Team All-America this season, finished the year ranking 35th in Division-III for scoring average with a conference-best 18.7 points per game. She also led the CCIW in assists per game (4.7) and Assist-to-turnover ratio (1.51), which rank 28th and 80th, respectively, in D-III. A Communication and Spanish major from Franklin, Wis., Rangel ranks second in the conference and 32nd in the country, in steals per game (2.96), while also ranking fourth in the league and 94th in D-III for field goal percentage (.468). Earlier this season, Rangel broke Carroll's career record for both assists and steals, while also shattering the school's single season steals record. She finishes her career ranking fourth in program history for career points (1,653),
Halverson is an Excercise Science - Physical Therapy major from Arcadia, Wis. She appeared in all 27 games for the Pios, starting 12. The guard was fourth on the team in scoring this season with 7.8 points per game, while also posting 1.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest. Halverson also shot 49 percent from the field this season, including 30 percent from 3-point range, while also converting 70 percent of her free throws.
A Nursing major from Oconomowoc, Wis., Gricius finished the season ranking second in the CCIW with a career-best scoring average of 18.2 points per game, which ranks 42nd among all Division-III players, and recently became the 18th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points. A two-time All-Region and All-Conference selection, including a unanimous First Team pick this year, Gricius was named Honorable Mention All-America at the conclusion of this season. In addition to her scoring prowess, Gricius ranks ninth in the conference with a team-best 6.1 rebounds per game, third in field goal percentage (.504 - 41st in D-III), fourth in free throw percentage (.817 - 66th in D-III).), and 10th in 3-pointers made per game (1.3), in addition to shooting 35 percent from behind the arc.
An Education major from Germantown, Wis., Wizner is also a two-time All-Conference selection. She finished the season ranking fourth in the CCIW in 3-point shooting (.355), while also ranking fifth in 3-pointers made per game (1.9). In addition to that, Wizner was 13th in the league in scoring (12.0 ppg) and 23rd in steals (1.3 spg). She also finished the year with 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16, 2025.
