WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's golf team turned in a strong performance at the WLC Quadrangular on Thursday, highlighted by a 1st place finish from
Tessa Lawson. Competing at Currie Park Golf Course in Wauwatosa, the Pioneers showcased depth and consistency across the lineup in the single-round stroke play event.
Lawson led the field with an 82 (+11), securing first place by two strokes and setting the tone for Carroll's day. Close behind was Lauren Lostetter, who tied for third after carding an 85 (+14). Lynea Sekany added another top-10 finish, shooting an 87 (+16) to tie for sixth.
Carroll's balanced effort continued with Gabby Hauser posting an 89 (+18) for 12th place, while Emily Brokl tied for 14th with a 92 (+21). Rounding out the lineup, Grace Knilans tied for 16th at 94 (+23), giving the Pioneers six golfers inside the top 16 of a 26-player field.
The event featured competitors from UW-Whitewater, Elmhurst University, and Wisconsin Lutheran College, and while not a team event, the Pioneers did post the strongest team finish overall. Carroll's last tune-up before the CCIW championship comes this Sunday and Monday at the Edgewood Fall Invite in Madison, WI at Odana Hills GC.
