Carroll junior Ava Butt has been named the CCIW Women's Bowling Player of the Week after delivering a dominant performance at the 2026 National DIII Invitational, where she finished as the top individual bowler in the entire field. The Wautoma, Wis. native rose above 70+ competitors, posting the highest four-game total of the tournament with an exceptional 870 series with games of 258, 188, 237, and 187 to secure the No. 1 spot on the leaderboard. 

Butt set the tone early with her tournament-high 258 in Game 1, showcasing her ability to read the pattern immediately and capitalize. She remained locked in throughout qualifying, backing it up with a composed 188 before surging again with a 237, one of the most efficient and controlled games of the day. Her ability to stay clean, shape the lane as it transitioned, and maintain carry allowed her to finish with a steady 187, completing one of the strongest series recorded at the National DIII Invite in recent seasons.

Her performance not only propelled her to the top of the individual standings but also played a crucial role in Carroll securing 1st place in team qualifying, leading the field with a 4,770 baker total and 3,987 traditional total for an 8,757 pinfall.

The Pioneers return to competition February 6-8th at the Flyer Invitational as they continue their mid-season slate, carrying the momentum from Butt's standout national-level performance into the heart of their schedule.
