METAMORA, Ill. – The Carroll University women's golf team wrapped up its fall season this week at the CCIW Women's Golf Championship, finishing sixth among eight teams after three rounds at Metamora Fields Golf Club.
The Pioneers put together three steady rounds over the 54-hole championship, led by junior Scarlett Lindgren, who paced Carroll throughout the event. Lindgren carded rounds of 80, 82, and 82 to finish at 244 (+31), good for a tie for 15th place individually and the highest finish among Pioneer golfers.
Carroll received consistent contributions throughout the lineup as four players finished within 23 strokes of one another. Tessa Lawson placed second on the team and tied for 25th overall after rounds of 84, 83, and 84 for a three-round total of 251 (+38). Emily Brokl was close behind, shooting 86, 88, and 85 to finish tied for 31st with a 259 (+46).
Lynea Sekany completed the championship tied for 37th after posting rounds of 87, 92, and 88 for a total of 267 (+54). Gabby Hauser rounded out the team scoring, recording rounds of 102, 89, and 89 to finish tied for 43rd at 280 (+67). Grace Knilans also competed for the Pioneers, shooting rounds of 83, 99, and 98 to finish tied for 43rd overall.
After opening the tournament with a team score of 420, Carroll improved during the second round with a 441 and closed the championship with one of its most balanced rounds of the week. Lindgren once again led the charge with an 11-over-par 82, while Lawson and Brokl added rounds of 84 and 85, respectively. The final round featured four Pioneers shooting 89 or better as Carroll capped the event on a positive note.
The championship marked the culmination of a competitive fall season that included tournaments across the Midwest against many of the region's top programs. Throughout the fall, the Pioneers showed growth and depth, with multiple golfers contributing key scores and gaining valuable experience in championship-caliber fields.
Lindgren's top-15 finish highlighted the week for Carroll, as she led the team in all three rounds and posted a pair of birdies during the championship. Lawson and Brokl also provided steady play throughout the event, each recording two rounds of 85 or lower, while Sekany and Hauser helped round out the scoring effort over the three-day tournament.
With the conference championship complete, Carroll closes its fall schedule and will now turn its attention toward preparations for the spring portion of the season. The experience gained at the CCIW Championship will provide a strong foundation as the Pioneers look to build momentum heading into the second half of the 2026-27 campaign.
