HARTFORD, Wis. – The Carroll University women's golf team continued their successful beginning to its 2026 fall season with a strong showing Friday, finishing second at the WLC Invitational at Washington County Golf Course with a team score of 343, just one stroke behind tournament champion Lake Forest.

The Pioneers were powered by an outstanding performance from Tessa Lawson, who captured individual medalist honors after firing a 7-over 79. Lawson's round paced the 29-player field and helped Carroll edge MSOE by two strokes in the team standings. 

Carroll placed two golfers inside the top two individually, as Scarlett Lindgren followed closely behind Lawson with an 8-over 80 to earn runner-up honors. The duo combined to give the Pioneers a strong foundation throughout the round and kept Carroll in contention until the final scores were posted. 

Emily Brokl added a top-15 finish for Carroll, tying for 11th with an 89. Lynea Sekany carded a 95 to tie for 17th, while Grace Knilans rounded out the scoring lineup with a 99. 

Lake Forest narrowly claimed the team title with a 342, while Carroll's 343 marked one of the field's most balanced efforts, featuring all five golfers inside the top 22. MSOE finished third at 345, followed by Wheaton at 353 and Wisconsin Lutheran at 394. 

The Pioneers will look to build on their season-opening success as they continue their fall schedule with a quick turnaround tomorrow at the MSOE Invite, which will be played at Currie Park in Wauwatosa, Wis. at 9am.
