Pioneers Wrap Up Wisconsin Privates Championship with Strong Relay & Distance Performances

KENOSHA, Wis. – Carroll Swim & Dive wrapped up a competitive two-day Wisconsin Privates Championship (Jan. 30–31) with the women placing 6th (38 points) and the men 5th (46 points) against a deep field led by Carthage and MSOE. Carroll's scoring came from a balanced mix of distance, backstroke and sprint groups, plus diving points on both sides. 


Women's Recap (6th – 38 points)

Carroll's women earned multiple top-eight finishes and put three A-relays on the board. Erin Fixen delivered the highest individual finish, taking 4th in the 1650 free (19:48.42) and adding 8th in the 400 IM (5:22.70). Natalie Oldenburg paced the backstroke group with 4th in the 200 back (2:23.71) and 7th in the 100 back (1:05.92). Carigan Tabor scored long-distance points with 8th in the 1650 free (20:24.18) and 16th in the 500 free (5:50.95). 

Carroll's relays added important team points:

  • 200 Free Relay (A) — 8th (1:48.53): Alexandria Ostopowicz, Cenia Stefonek, Kendal Richard, Oldenburg. 
  • 200 Medley Relay (A) — 9th (2:06.50): Oldenburg, Tabor, Fixen, Ostopowicz.
  • 400 Free Relay (A) — 8th (4:05.87): Ostopowicz, Richard, Stefonek, Oldenburg. 

Additional scoring performances included Stefonek (10th, 100 fly – 1:10.11), Richard (13th, 200 free – 2:13.30) and Nelson (17th, 200 free – 2:16.33). In diving, Ostopowicz placed 8th on 1-meter (226.30) and Nevaeh Clayton took 11th (172.45). 


Men's Recap (5th – 46 points)

The men produced points across strokes and distances, highlighted by sprint, backstroke and relay depth. Gavin Buechel reached the A-final of the 100 fly (6th, 57.12), while Thomas Rynne scored in both backstrokes — 8th in the 200 back (2:10.45) and 10th in the 100 back (58.78). Jonah Lotegeluaki led the freestylers with 9th in the 100 free (51.16) and 10th in the 50 free (23.06), and Mannon Stern added distance points with 9th in the 1650 free (19:42.45).

Carroll stacked four scoring relays:

  • 200 Free Relay (A) — 5th (1:34.76): Buechel, Griggs LeRoux, Ben Miles, Lotegeluaki. 
  • 400 Medley Relay (A) — 7th (4:00.25): Rynne, Miles, Buechel, Lotegeluaki. 
  • 400 Free Relay (A) — 7th (3:36.47): Buechel, Miles, Griggs LeRoux, Lotegeluaki.
  • 200 Medley Relay (A) — 8th (1:47.06): Rynne, Miles, Buechel, Lotegeluaki. 

Additional points came from Eli Griggs LeRoux (11th, 50 free – 23.55), Miles (17th, 100 breast – 1:09.18; 10th, 200 breast – 2:33.78), and Paden Moore (13th, 200 fly – 2:22.36). In diving, Dawson Schultz placed 10th on 1-meter (238.75).

The Pioneers turn their attention to the next phase of the season; as they head to the CCIW Diving Championships on February 13th and 14th in Kenosha once again.
