For the first time in her Carroll career, sophomore Samantha Sciortino has been named the CCIW Women's Bowling Athlete of the Week, recognizing her standout performance on the lanes at the 2026 Flyer Classic this past weekend.
Sciortino put together one of the most consistent tournaments of her collegiate career, finishing with a five-game total of 1,003 pins and a 200.6 average, placing 29th overall in a field loaded with nationally ranked Division I, II and III talent. She delivered games of 209, 221, 166, 195 and 212, giving the Pioneers a reliable anchor throughout traditional play.
Her performance helped Carroll post multiple competitive team rounds while continuing to build momentum in the heart of the spring schedule. Sciortino was especially steady in the middle of the block, providing key lifts as the Pios battled through a demanding slate of opponents.
The honor marks another milestone for a program that continues to climb within the CCIW and the national Division III landscape. With Sciortino's emergence, the Pioneers look to carry this energy into their next competition which comes this Saturday and Sunday at the Viking Classic in Bettendorf, IA.
