LOCKPORT, IL - The Carroll University women's bowling team wrapped up a demanding three-day weekend at the 2026 Flyer Classic in Lockport, Illinois, finishing 20th overall against one of the deepest NCAA fields of the season. The tournament, hosted by Lewis University, featured several nationally ranked Division I and II programs, providing a high-level competitive stage for the Pioneers.
Carroll opened the event with consistent Baker play, highlighted by totals of 876, 941, 865, 893, and 896 across their five Friday Baker blocks. Their strongest set came in Baker Match 02, where the Pioneers rolled 941, earning an early win over Western Illinois. The team's combined Baker pinfall reached 4,471, placing the Pioneers in the hunt entering traditional play.
During Saturday's traditional games, Carroll was led by freshman Samantha Sciortino, who delivered a standout 1,003 series across five traditional games, including a 221 and 212 to pace Carroll in the lineup. She finished 29th individually out of more than 160 competitors with a 200.6 average, placing her inside the top 30 of a tournament stacked with elite scorers.
Veteran bowler Hannah Bartlett also turned in a strong weekend, posting a 962 series with a high game of 229 and a 192.4 average, while freshman Miley Brooks added 905 pins across five games at a 181 average, giving the Pioneers additional stability in the rotation. Allyson Will (866) and Ava Butt (852) rounded out the primary lineup.
Carroll's strongest traditional game block came with a 937 total, featuring multiple scores above 180 from Sciortino, Bartlett, and Will. Over two days of match play, Carroll accumulated 4,588 traditional pins, finishing the weekend with a combined 12,886 total pinfall and 20th place overall.
Despite the tough field, the Pioneers showed meaningful depth and continued improvement across both Baker and traditional formats. With multiple underclassmen contributing significant numbers, Carroll leaves the Flyer Classic with momentum heading into the next stretch of the spring season.
