Three Carroll Track & Field Athletes Earn USTFCCCA North Region Honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Three Carroll University track & field student-athletes were recognized for their standout indoor seasons as the USTFCCCA announced its NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field All-Region honorees, with all three earning distinction in the North Region.

Earning North Region All-Region honors for Carroll were freshmen Carlos Cadet, Brian Smith, and Jenna Weis, each recognized in their respective events after ranking among the top eight athletes in the North Region on the final TFRRS descending order lists.

All three Pioneers will represent Carroll on the national stage this weekend, as Smith, Cadet, and Weis have earned selection to the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for March 13–14 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.

Brian Smith qualified for nationals in the men's 400 meters, capping a remarkable freshman campaign that included breaking a 14-year-old school record. Smith has quickly emerged as one of the top first-year sprinters in Division III and enters the championship meet ranked among the national leaders. He will compete in the 400-meter first round on Friday, March 13 at 3:25 p.m. (CDT), with the final scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at 4:35 p.m. (CDT) if he advances.

Carlos Cadet earned his place in the national field in the men's triple jump following a breakout freshman season highlighted by consistent top-20 marks and conference-level success. Cadet will compete in the triple jump final on Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. (CDT) as he looks to continue his strong debut campaign on the national stage.

On the women's side, Jenna Weis qualified for nationals in the pole vault, becoming a national qualifier in her first collegiate indoor season. Weis steadily improved throughout the year and secured her spot among the top 20 declared athletes nationally. She will compete in the pole vault final on Friday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. (CDT).

All-Region honors are awarded by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) to the top eight individuals in each event from each region. The NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships feature the top 20 declared athletes in each event nationwide.

Carroll's three qualifiers — all freshmen — underscore both the immediate impact of the program's newest competitors and the strong foundation being built for the future of Pioneer track & field.
