This week's "Pios of the Week" for the week ending 3/1 are Sophomore
Makayla Wall of Softball, and Freshman
Carlos Cadet of Men's Track and Field for their performances over the past week at their respective games and meets.
Makayla Wall - Sophomore - Softball
Wall is named Pio of the Week after a dominant week in the circle. Wall appeared in three games over Feb. 26–27, compiling a win, a save, and allowing no earned runs across 9.1 innings of work in a week where the Pioneers went 3-1. She scattered just five hits, struck out nine batters, making her a pivotal part helping the Pioneers earn wins over MSOE and Edgewood. Wall's consistency and effectiveness were key factors in Carroll's success during the week, and the team will look to build on the successful week.
Carlos Cadet - Freshman - Men's Track and Field
Cadet earns Pio of the Week honors for the Carroll men's track and field team after delivering one of the top performances of the CCIW Indoor Championship meet. Cadet captured conference titles in both the long jump and triple jump, winning the long jump with a mark of 6.96 meters before following with a championship-winning leap of 14.51 meters in the triple jump. His performances earned him All-Conference honors in both events, and he was also named the CCIW First-Year Field Athlete of the Year.
