MOLINE, Ill. — The Carroll University women's bowling team delivered a complete and composed performance across all formats to claim the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Bowling Championship, closing out a championship weekend defined by depth, consistency, and timely individual performances.
Carroll opened the conference championship with a strong showing in winner's-bracket play, advancing through the field by executing in traditional, baker, and best-of-seven formats. The Pioneers' ability to adapt to lane transitions and maintain scoring pressure proved decisive as the tournament progressed.
Throughout the weekend, Carroll was led by balanced production at the top of the lineup. Hannah Bartlett turned in one of the strongest individual performances of the championship, rolling a 196.3 average across her matches. Bartlett's scoring consistency provided a steady foundation for Carroll during traditional play and carried into baker competition as the Pioneers advanced through the bracket.
Samantha Sciortino followed closely behind, averaging 184.0 across her championship appearances. Sciortino delivered key frames in multiple formats, particularly during best-of-seven play, helping Carroll maintain momentum during high-pressure matches. Natalie Hirsch added another steady presence in the lineup, posting a 181.0 average while delivering clutch pinfall as the tournament progressed.
Junior Ava Butt continued her strong postseason run, rolling a 180.7 average across championship competition. Butt's scoring played a pivotal role during both traditional and baker formats, as she consistently helped Carroll build and maintain advantages during critical stretches of play. Miley Brooks added to the Pioneers' depth, contributing a 166.3 average during the championship and continuing an impressive first-year season with consistent scoring across formats.
Carroll's path to the conference title included victories over Augustana and Carthage, setting up a decisive championship matchup with Marian. In the final round, the Pioneers delivered across all three formats, combining solid traditional games, effective baker scoring, and strong best-of-seven performances to secure the CCIW Championship without the need for an additional deciding match.
Across the full championship, Carroll finished with the highest total pinfall in the field, a reflection of sustained excellence rather than reliance on any single performance. The Pioneers' balance throughout the lineup allowed them to withstand format changes and maintain scoring consistency as the pressure increased.
The CCIW Championship crowns a historic season for Carroll women's bowling, adding the conference title to a growing list of accomplishments that includes national-level recognition and multiple individual postseason honors. Carroll's performance throughout the weekend showcased the program's depth, preparation, and ability to execute when it mattered most.
With the conference championship secured, the Pioneers now turn their attention to postseason competition, carrying momentum from one of the most complete and consistent championship performances in program history. They will turn their attention to the NCAA tournament now, with the selection show set for Wednesday, March 25th at 3pm where the Pioneers will find out where they head for regionals, scheduled for April 2-4.
