ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Carroll University women's golf continued its strong start to the fall season this weekend, earning a third-place team finish at the Highland Classic at Highland Springs Municipal Golf Course. The Pioneers carded rounds of 327 and 329 to finish with a 36-hole team score of 656, led by top-five finishes from Scarlett Lindgren and Tessa Lawson.

Lawson provided one of the highlights of the weekend in Saturday's opening round, firing a personal-best 76 (+4). She followed with an 81 on Sunday to finish at 157 (+13), earning fifth place individually.

Lindgren turned in Carroll's top overall finish, opening with a 79 before improving by two strokes with a 77 in the final round. Her 36-hole total of 156 (+12) placed her fourth overall, just one stroke ahead of Lawson.

Emily Brokl gave Carroll a third top-20 finisher, recording rounds of 83 and 85 to finish tied for 20th at 168 (+24). Lynea Sekany improved three strokes on day two, following an 89 with an 86 to finish tied for 32nd at 175 (+31).

Gabby Hauser also made a strong improvement in the final round, shaving four strokes off her opening-round 92 with an 88 on Sunday to finish tied for 42nd at 180 (+36). Competing as an individual, Chloe Didreckson carded rounds of 93 and 95 to finish 53rd at 188 (+44).

Carroll's third-place finish was highlighted by Lindgren and Lawson both placing inside the top five, while the Pioneers remained consistent throughout the weekend with just two strokes separating their two team rounds.

The Pioneers return to action Friday, September 11, when they take on Wisconsin Lutheran College at Washington County Golf Course.
