Men's Swimming and Diving by Austin Barger

Men and women fall to UW-Whitewater

Whitewater, Wis.-

The Pioneers traveled to face UW-Whitewater in a swim/diving meet on November 4th. The men lost 143-41, while the women fell 132-54.

The men were led by Brody Beyer, who notched their only win of the meet. Beyer, a senior from Machesney Park, Ill., won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 57.17.

The women were led by Kaitlin Squier, who was their only 1st place finisher. Squier, a sophomore from Appleton, Wis., won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.65. Morgan Stokes, a senior from Manitowoc, Wis., also contributed for Carroll. Stokes finished 2nd in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.00, while also finishing 2nd in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 57.35. Stokes and Squier were also part of the relay team that finished 2nd in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:57.16. Julia Coti, a sophomore for Oak Lawn, Ill., and Rowan Liederback, a junior from Franklin, Wis., were the other members of the 200 yard medley relay team.

Both swimming/diving teams will be back in action on November 5th, as the Pioneers host Lake Forest College at 1 pm.
