Carroll 7, MSOE 2

(Milwaukee, Wis.) – The Carroll University men's tennis team cruised to an easy 7-2 victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering.
 
The Pioneers led 2-1 after doubles play then won 5-of-6 singles flights.
 
Peter Jaeger and Quentin Lamers won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles while Andrew Nemcek and Mitch Gjerseth won 8-3 at No. 3.
 
Jaeger paced Carroll at No. 1 singles at 6-2, 6-3.
 
With the Pioneers leading 4-1, Lamers secured the victory in three sets. After dropping the first set 6-3 he claimed set two at 6-1 then won a 10-point tiebreaker at 10-8.
 
Blake Youngberg, at No. 3 singles, also won a third-set tiebreaker. He won the first set at 6-4 then dropped set two at 7-6 (7-4). In the super tiebreaker he won 10-6.
 
Ian Foster easily won at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1 while Gjerseth won is straight sets at No. 6, 7-5, 6-3.
