Box Score 2 (Chicago, Ill.) - The Carroll University softball team extended its winning streak to six games following a doubleheader sweep at North Park University. The Pioneers won game one of the twinbill, 9-6 then earned a 14-8 victory in the nightcap.

In the opener, the hosts jumped out to a 6-0 lead with two runs in the first inning and four more an inning later. But, Carroll exploded for six runs in the top of the fourth inning to tie the score.

Neither team could muster a run over the next 3 ½ innings which forced an eighth inning. In the eighth, Carroll plated three runs on three singles to earn the win.

Megan Kohlmetz led CU with a 4-of-5 performance while driving in two runs. Kelly Sykes was 3-for-5 with an RBI while Hannah Miller drove in three runs on a bases-clearing double.

Miller also went seven innings in relief to pick up the win on the mound.

In game two, North Park again shot out of the gate quickly, scoring two in the first inning and six in the second inning to lead 8-5 through two. Carroll pulled two runs back in the top of the third inning then effectively put the game away with a five-run fifth inning.

Kelly Strasser was dynamite in game two, exploding for six runs batted in on 4-of-4 at the plate. Her plate appearances included a double and a home run.

Kohlmetz also stayed hot, going 4-for-5 with three RBI's.

Sarah Hansen went 2 ? innings in relief of Miller and earned the victory.
