(Mt. Vernon, Iowa) – The Carroll University men's tennis team lost two Midwest Conference matches on Saturday. The Pioneers fell to Grinnell College by a score of 8-1 in the morning then lost a 6-3 decision against Cornell College in the afternoon.
Peter Jaeger recorded CU's lone point against Grinnell when he defeated Jose Coloma at 6-3, 1-6, 10-8. Coloma is ranked No. 23 in the central region, giving Jaeger his second win over a ranked opponent this season.
Against Cornell, Blake Youngberg and Mitchel Gjerseth won 9-8 at No. 3 doubles while Ian Foster and Andrew Nemcek won at No. 5 and 6 singles flights.
