Airik Ranjo (San Diego, Calif.) each registered a hat trick to lead the Carroll University men's lacrosse team to a 12-3 victory over North Central University in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon.
It was the first road victory of the season for Carroll, which won its second straight and improved to 2-1 overall.
The Pioneers outscored North Central 7-1 in the momentum-shifting first half, including what proved to be a decisive 5-1 margin in the second quarter.
Sophomore midfielder
Dannon Ivey (Grass Valley, Calif.) followed with two goals for Carroll, which outshot North Central 37-23 - maintaining a 23-10 shot-on-goal advantage.
Senior midfielder
Aaron King (Villa Park, Ill.), sophomore midfielder
Christopher Bechtel (Sammamish, Wash.), freshman attackman
Dylan Steichen (Bartlett, Ill.) and freshman midfielder
Michael Peters (Chicago, Ill.) each added a goal for the Pioneers, who won 12 face offs.
Ranjo and Peters each contributed two assists with King, Steichen and junior attackman
Edward Weizenicker (New Berlin, Wis.) each collecting one.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Abe Escrada (Sammamish, Wash.), who played the entire 60 minutes, had seven saves to help preserve a victory.
Brenden Berg had a hat trick for North Central, which lost its season opener. Anthony Lopez had 12 saves for the Rams.
