Airik Ranjo (San Diego, Calif.) each scored a goal in the first quarter but the Carroll University men's lacrosse team lost to Calvin College 19-2 in a nonconference game at Eagles Stadium on Tuesday night.
It was the second road loss of the season for Carroll, which dropped to 0-7 overall following the opening game of its Michigan spring break road trip.
The Pioneers trailed 5-2 at the end of the opening 15 minutes but yielded six unanswered goals in what became a key, momentum-shifting second quarter.
Sophomore attackman
Cordell McNamara (Waukesha, Wis.) contributed an assist for Carroll, which was outshot 64-20 - including a 36-11 shot-on-goal margin.
Freshman goalkeeper
Thomas Atella (Crystal Lake, Ill.) registered 17 saves in playing the entire 60 minutes.
Senior attackman Max Foster finished with a game-high five goals and three assists to lead Calvin, which improved to 4-2 overall.
