Michaela Johnson (Mukwonago, Wis.) finished with a hat trick but the Carroll University women's lacrosse team lost to Hamline University 12-8 in a hard-fought nonconference game at Klas Field on Sunday afternoon.
It was the second loss of the season for Carroll, which entered the contest riding the momentum of a four-game winning streak but dropped to 5-2 overall.
The Pioneers led 4-2 at the intermission but were outscored 10-4 over the course of the second half.Â

Courtenay Karls (Waukesha, Wis.) followed with two goals for Carroll, which was outshot 28-18 - including a 21-15 shot-on-goal margin. Senior midfielder

Alyssa Scharff (Nashotah, Wis.) each added a goal.
Senior goalkeeper
Shelby Schoob (Sun Prairie, Wis.) registered nine saves in playing the entire 60 minutes.
Junior midfielder Sydney Dynneson had a game-high five goals and two assists for Hamline, which remained undefeated with a 7-0 record.
The Pipers extended their home-field winning streak to 24 games.
