Airik Ranjo (San Diego, Calif.) each scored two unassisted goals as the Carroll University men's lacrosse team lost to in-state rival Carthage College 25-5 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game at Art Keller Field on Tuesday night.
It was the fourth conference road loss for Carroll, which dropped to 0-5 in league and 0-14 overall.Â
The Pioneers were outscored 15-1 in the first half, including eight unanswered goals in the momentum-shifting opening quarter.
Junior defender
Ian McClintock (Reno, Nevada) had the other goal for Carroll, which was outshot 71-20 - including a 43-9 margin. Senior attackman
Paul Kerchberger (Deer Park, Ill.) added an assist.
Junior goalkeeper
Abe Escarda (Sammamish, Wash.) registered 18 saves in playing the entire 60 minutes for the Pioneers.
Senior attackman Andy Szun finished with a game-high five goals and three assists for Carthage, which improved to 3-1 in conference and 12-3 overall.
