WAUKESHA, Wis. –
Marcus Suelflow is stepping down from his position as Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach of the Carroll University golf programs effectively immediately.
"Marcus made an impact with these young men and women on our golf team that will continue to last," said Director of Athletics
Michael Schulist. "We appreciate his time and investment into our program the last two years. We wish him well in his new ventures in golf."
Suelflow came to Carroll in the summer of 2020. During his tenure with the men's program,
Erik Hopp and
Evan Bridges added their names to the Carroll men's golf record books with rounds of 70 and 71, respectively. The Pioneers went 1-1 in the prestigious hatchet match against St. Norbert, winning the trophy for the first time in 2021. With the women, the Pioneers have dropped an average of 22 strokes per round since the 2019-2020 season.
Ashlyn Burdick emerged as the Pioneers' leader averaging 90.9 and 90.6 in the last two seasons.
The position for the Donald F. Kelly Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach has been posted, with a national search beginning immediately.
