HARTFORD, Wis. - The Carroll University men's golf team earned a sixth-place finish in a competitive 15-team field at the Washington County Golf Course Invitational. The two-day event featured a challenging par-72 layout and tested the depth and consistency of the Pioneers' lineup.
Carroll posted a team score of +39, with rounds of +14 on Day 1 and +25 on Day 2. The Pioneers secured sixth place with St. Norbert, finishing just nine strokes behind fifth-place Macalester.
Sophomore Carter Morrison led the team with back-to-back rounds of +2, finishing at +4 overall. His steady performance across both days anchored Carroll's scoring and highlighted his ability to manage the course effectively. Fernando Cirajas followed with rounds of +4 and +6 for a +10 total, while Ben Book contributed +6 and +8 for a +14 finish.
Jonah Keck and Tyler Hoffmann rounded out the lineup with +17 and +18 totals, respectively. Keck posted a strong +5 in Round 1 before encountering tougher conditions on Day 2, while Hoffmann delivered consistent +9 rounds on both days.
Washington County GC presented a balanced test with long par fives, tight par threes, and strategic doglegs. The course demanded precision off the tee and strong short-game execution, especially in the second round where scores trended higher across the field.
With a top-half finish and solid individual performances, Carroll continues to build momentum heading into the heart of its fall schedule. The Pioneers will return to action at the Midwest Region Fall Classic in Kansasville, Wis. on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th.
