Women’s Track Finishes Fifth at Ripon

RIPON, Wis. – The Carroll University women's indoor track and field team collected 73 team points to finish in fifth place at the Dick Hendricks Invite hosted by Ripon Saturday afternoon. Elizabeth Reddeman, Sydney Halversen, and Vanessa Uitenbroek claimed first place finishes in their respective events.
 
In track events, Reddeman ran to victory in the women's 5K race with a time of 18:53.03. Alison Klosterman was close behind with a third-place finish. Mary Quinn supplied team points in the 60m hurdles race, crossing the finish line in fourth in the finals. Carroll's 'A' 4x400 team comprised of Quinn, Natalie Dresang, Victoria Watson and Anika Tollerud finished in seventh place.
 
In field events, Halversen reached 1.55 meters, just .01 meter from her PR. In pole vault, Jessica Mueller hit 3.33 meters in one clear attempt to finish in third. In Quinn's busy afternoon, she added an eighth-place long jump to her resume. The shot put event was led by Vanessa Uitenbroek's 13.72 meter throw. Maria Falk added a fourth place finish. Uitenbroek again led the way in the weight throw, hurling her implement 16.03 meters. Cate Gudaitis smashed her PR to finish in fourth, while Falk rounded out the scoring in eighth.

The Pioneers return to the fox valley next weekend, February 18, visiting the campus of UW-Oshkosh in the Titan Challenge.
