Carroll Track & Field Delivers Strong Performances on Both Sides at Warrior Invite

WAUWATOSA, Wis. — The Carroll University men's and women's track & field teams delivered a comprehensive, top-to-bottom performance Saturday at the Warrior Invite at Raabe Stadium, with contributions across sprints, distance, relays, and field events.

Women's Team Results

The Carroll women finished second overall with 211.5 points, narrowly trailing Marquette and well ahead of the rest of the field.

On the track, Carroll earned points in every sprint and hurdle group. Aimee Koranteng placed second in the 100 meters and added points in the 200, while Cadence Carlson, Margaret Carter, Addison Weber, and Katilyn Gregory all scored in the 100. Rianna Schultz, Koranteng, Carter, Avery Wolf, Addison Korte, and Blyss McCune contributed points in the 200. In the 400, Hana Smith finished third, with Kailey Wozniak also scoring.

In the middle distances, Kyla Laabs placed third in the 1,500, joined by point-scoring efforts from Paola Orozco, Brooke Davies, Rebecca Barnes, Norah Yang, Kayla Hirschmann, Lucy Beuthin, and Mia Kim. Natalie Parent placed third and Abby Burie finished fourth in the 5,000 meters.

In the hurdles, Carroll scored heavily. Tirzah Losos finished second in the 100-meter hurdles, followed by Katelyn Duber (fifth) and Gwen Breckheimer (seventh). Addisyn Tauferner added a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.

The relays were a major strength. Carroll placed second in the 4x100 relay with Koranteng, Wolf, Gregory, and Carlson, and won the 4x400 relay behind Losos, Carlson, Schultz, and Smith with their effort being good enough for 70th place nationally currently.

In the field events, Carroll dominated. Jenna Weis won the pole vault, with additional points from Ella Ott, Bella Backus, and Alexandria Ostopowicz. Grace Pequignot swept the shot put and hammer throw, while Caroline Plasil won the javelin and added points in the discus and hammer. Additional field points came from Clare Whitney (high jump), Katelyn Duber (triple jump win), Margaret Carter (long jump), Annika Watzka, Madi Ullrich, Jaida Wyatt, Ashley Wojciechowski, Alexand Sahlin Cloutier, Ella Schuett, and Erika Houston Johnson.

Men's Team Results

The Carroll men finished third overall with 100 points, showing depth across nearly every event group.

In the sprints, Denim Riley placed third in the 100 meters and added a point in the 200. Victor Wiszniewski also scored in the 200. In the 400, Carroll placed third through fifth with Sawyer Caves, Connor Tector, and Cameron Lotspeich, while Patrick Signore and Wiszniewski added additional points.

Distance events saw Donovan Menningen and Ethan Weber score in the 800, Bailey Olson in the 1,500, and Julian Bica Harrison in the 5,000.

In the hurdles, Jared Kniola placed third in the 110-meter hurdles, and Eber Lopez finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles.

The 4x400 relay delivered a win for Carroll, with Caves, Signore, Luke Adams, and Lotspeich, while a second Carroll relay also competed.

In the field, Brady Reusser led the way with a win in the shot put and a second-place finish in the discus. Dylan Mendro, Carter Ruiz, Sutton Zimmerman, and Ben Breitbach all scored in the shot put, while Mendro and Ruiz also placed in the discus and hammer. Mendro added a second-place finish in the javelin, and Ethan Zilisch scored in the long jump.

Overall, Carroll showed depth and balance across all event groups, continuing to build momentum as the outdoor season progresses. Both teams will take part at the St. Norbert invite in Green Bay next Saturday, looking to continue to improve ahead of the CCIW Championships which begin the following week.
