BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mary Quinn of Carroll University women's track and field became the Pioneers' first women's pentathlon national participant on Friday, competing in five events throughout the day. Quinn finished with 3,050 points and finished 19^th in the field.
 
Quinn, a senior from Chicago, Illinois, began her day with a 60m hurdles run of 9.30. Quinn followed up her sprint with a PR-tying performance in the high jump, easily clearing 1.55 meters. Quinn gained 474 points in the shot put, 495 points in the long jump, and 555 points in the 800m. In her last three pentathlons, Quinn has scored over 3000 points.
