WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's track and field team hosted the 2023 Wisconsin Private College Championships on Sunday, April 2 at Dennis Punches Track and Field Complex. The Pioneers walked away with sixth place after gaining 72 team points.
Cate Gudaitis won the discus event for the Pioneers.
In track events,
Rebekah Buboltz started the morning with a third-place finish in the 1500m run, followed by
Natalie Parent's seventh.
Ani Tollerud gained two team points in the 400m dash one event later.
Mary Quinn finished in sixth place in the 100-meter hurdles, in one of her three events of the day. Buboltz returned to the track and gathered two team points from the third head in the 800m run. In the 5K,
Elizabeth Reddeman collected a fourth-place finish with a time of 18:57.57. The 4x400 team of Carroll comprised of
Victoria Watson, Tollerud,
Grace Tinder, and
Kayla Hirschmann finished in fourth place with a time of 4:32.46.
In field events, Gudaitis, a 2022 Discus All-American, won the same event with a throw of 41.15 meters.
Vanessa Uitenbroek, the 2022 National Runner-Up, was just behind with a 40.40-meter toss.
Maria Falk added two more team points in the discus. Gudaitis and Falk also combined for five points in the hammer throw, in which both Gudaitis and Falk PR'd. Uitenbroek and Falk finished in the top eight in the shot put, collecting seven team points. Quinn competed in the long jump and javelin throw, earning an extra team point for her 5.01-meter long jump.
Sydney Halversen finished in second in the high jump, and
Jessica Mueller and
Grace Tinder recorded top-eight finishes in the pole vault to round out the scoring.
Carroll will have a quick turnaround this week, heading to St. Norbert's on Thursday to compete before the Easter weekend.
