MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Carroll University women's outdoor track and field team led all Division III schools on Saturday at the Marquette Invitational, which featured Division I and Division II talent.
Vanessa Uitenbroek won three events, while
Jessica Mueller put up a massive PR for her victory in the pole vault.
In track events,
Savannah Krzykowski scored eight points in the 100m hurdles, while
Miranda Cogan picked up three points in the 400m hurdles race.
Victoria Watson scored a point with a top-eight finish and PR in the 400m dash.
Taylor Olund finished seventh in the 200m dash to round out the individual track totals. In relays, the 4x400 squad of
Chiri Watanabe, Watson,
Natalie Dresang, and
Rebekah Buboltz scored six points with a third-place finish.
In throwing events, Uitenbroek put up three more first-place finishes in the hammer with a PR throw of 51.49m, a discus toss of 46.77m, and a shot put throw of 13.41m.
Cate Gudaitis collected points in the discus and shot put,
Maria Falk had top finishes in the shot put and hammer,
Kaitlyn Brucci added four points in the shot, and
Grace Kelly had a new PR and two points in the hammer. In jumps, Mueller smashed her lifetime PR with a new height of 3.52m to win the meet.
Grace Tinder also added a point in the pole vault.
Sydney Halversen jumped to 1.50m to finish sixth in the high jump.
The Pioneers will have a Friday meet next week, back at UW-Whitewater for the Drake Alternative Meet.
