WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's outdoor track and field teams split into two groups the weekend prior to Easter Sunday, with some of the team heading North to St. Norbert, while another group headed to UW-Whitewater on Friday.
In track events at St. Norbert,
Elizabeth Reddeman won the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:09.66.
Isabel Szablewski finished in eighth in the same event to score points for the Pioneers. Kaitlyn Gregory finished seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 14.33, and
Taylor Olund finished fourth in the 200m dash with a time of 27.25. A trio of
Ani Tollerud,
Taylor Olund, and
Ellie King collected team points in the 400m dash, and
Rebekah Buboltz went on to win the 800m with
Natalie Parent,
Chiri Watanabe, and
Grace Tinder not far behind. Carroll's 'A' 4x400 team comprised of Tinder, Buboltz,
Victoria Watson, and Tollerud finished second with a 4:37.97. At UWW,
Mary Quinn won the 100m hurdles with a finals time of 15.31 and a qualifying time of 15.00.
In field events at St. Norbert,
Vanessa Uitenbroek won three events for the Pioneers, and improved on all her distances from a week ago. Uitenbroek hit 44.26m in the discus, 44.53m in the hammer, and 13.32 in the shot put.
Cate Gudaitis, who was at UW-Whitewater, finished with a season-best 42.18m in the discus, fourth in the hammer, and fourth in the shot put.
Maria Falk improved upon her shot put distance from the indoor season, throwing 13.13 at St. Norbert to finish second behind Uitenbroek. Also finishing top eight in throwing events at St. Norbert was
Kaitlyn Brucci,
Kelsey Moran, and
Anna Clare Miller. In the high jump,
Sydney Halversen reached a 1.48m jump at St. Norbert for a new season best, and Quinn reached 1.50m at UWW. Also at St. Norbert,
Jessica Mueller and
Grace Tinder scored points in the women's pole vault.
The Pioneers will head to Beloit next Saturday, April 15.
