ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Three Pioneers from the Carroll University women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Augustana Last Chance Twilight on Thursday afternoon in hopes of solidifying their chances of making the NCAA Division III Track and Field National Championships next week in New York. Vanessa Uitenbroek, Cate Gudaitis, and Maria Falk all threw to increase their distances.
 
In the hammer, Uitenbroek finished with a mark of 43.78m on her third of three attempts in the event. In the discus, Uitenbroek and Gudaitis both finished in the finals. Uitenbroek finished with a season-best 48.63m throw, and Gudaitis followed with a lifetime-best 45.05m toss. In the shot put, Uitenbroek put out a 13.16m throw on her second attempt, and Falk recorded a distance of 12.75m on her second throw.
 
The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Selections will be announced on Friday, May 19 via press release from NCAA.com. The Championships are from May 25-27, 2023 at Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, NY.
