Jacob Acevedo Steps Down From Men's Lacrosse Program

WAUKESHA, Wis. - After three years as Carroll's Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, Jacob Acevedo is stepping down from the program to pursue other professional opportunities, effective immediately.

"It should always be a coach's missions to leave a program better than they found it, and in this case Jake certainly did that," Carroll Athletics Director Michael Schulist said. "He helped build a healthy roster and strong culture within his program and is leaving a promising and up-and-coming team for the next coach to inherit. I wish Jake and his family well in their next endeavor."

In his three years as head coach, Acevedo led the Pioneers to 10 wins, including six in 2024, which set a new program record for single season victories. The Pios also broke or tied 24 individual and team single season records this past season, including most points (201), goals (147), assists (54), shots (703), and shots on goal (360),

"Looking back at my time here at Carroll I cannot thank Mike Schulist and (Associate AD of Business Operations) Mark Krzykowski enough for everything they have done for me," Acevedo said. "I'm forever grateful for being a part of such a wonderful athletic department. The opportunity they gave me to build up this program is one that I will cherish forever. I'm excited for the future of all student-athletes who I had the opportunity to work with. They had full faith in me to lead and guide them these last few seasons and cannot thank them enough for everything they have done."

Acevedo has accepted the head coaching position at NCAA Division-II school Quincy University in Quincy, Ill.
