Carroll To Partner With American Cancer Society Saturday To Tackle Breast Cancer

Carroll University and the Pioneers' football program is proud to partner with American Cancer Society and 'Making Strides Against Breast Cancer' at their game on Saturday, October 19 against Augustana (IL) at 1 p.m.

Fans are asked to wear pink to the game to raise breast cancer awareness, while some players will wear pink wrist bands, etc. as well. All proceeds for Saturday's 50/50 raffle will go towards benefiting 'Making Strides of Milwaukee'.

"The Carroll University Football FAMILY is honored to tackle breast cancer with the American Cancer Society and Making Strides. Our program is so much more than just X's and O's – it's about providing an experience for our student-athletes and taking care of the people that take care of us," Carroll Head Football Coach Mike Budziszewski said. "So many lives within the Pioneer FAMILY have been challenged due to various cancers, and I believe together we can create hope, strength, and a future without breast cancer. GO PIOS!"

During and after the game, there will be several giveaways and 'swag', while also special sashes will be available for survivors and thrivers to honor those who have battled breast cancer. There will also be a photo op in Making Strides' iconic pink chair, while information on breast cancer screening and prevention will be available throughout the day.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. from Schneider Stadium in Waukesha, Wis.
