NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Carroll's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Running of the Cows Saturday morning, hosted by Carleton College. There were 21 competing teams on the men's side, while 22 teams competed in the women's race. The men placed 17th overall, with the women securing a 14th place finish in a large field of runners on a challenging course.Â

The Pio men scored 482 points in the meet, which was just 1 shy of the 16th-place Minnesota Crookston.
Ethan Weber led Carroll with an 8K time of 26:50.2, which was good for 61st place among 315 runners.
Charles Quast was second on the team, in 79th place, with a time of 27:20.4, while
Cameron Lotspeich was 103rd with a time of 28:21.3.
Julian Bica Harrison and
Donovan Menningen rounded out the top-five Pioneer runners with times of 28:49.8 and 29:22.9, respectively. Completing the top seven scorers for Carroll were
Bailey Olson and
Patrick Signore, who finished with times of 30:14.2 and 31:37.6, respectively.Â

On the women's side, the Pioneers finished with 379 points, just 10 shy of Carthage's 13th-place total.
Keagan Knue finished 32nd overall in another strong performance with a time of 23:32.7.Â
Rebekah Buboltz placed 60th, crossing the line at 24:24.3. The next three runners to score points for the team finished beginning in 85th place, as
Hana Smith, Anika Tollerud, and
Grace Tinder all finished within sixty seconds of each other. Rounding out the top-seven for the women's 6K were
Ailee Hogan and
Rebecca Barnes, who were timed at 26:28.5Â and 26:34.8, respectively.Â

The Pioneers get off their feet before they will be in action again on October 12, where they'll compete Gene Davis Invitational, hosted by Lawrence University. That meet will take place at Reid Municipal Golf Course in Appleton, Wis., beginning at 10:30 a.m.Â
