RIPON, Wis. - The Carroll University men's track and field team placed fourth at the 10-team Dick Hendricks Invitational (hosted by Ripon College) on Saturday.
Carroll, which generated 79 points in the challenging indoor competition, showcased its depth by claiming one individual event title, four second-place finishes and four third-place finishes.
Jimmy Hinkley won the weight throw with a distance of 17.72 meters to lead the Pioneers. Hinkley is currently ranked 26th in the nation in NCAA Division III.
Austin Sanderfoot finished second in the mile run a time of 4:23.71, while
Brady Reusser was second in the shot put (14.54m) for Carroll.
Nathan Raatz added a second-place finish in both the 200 (23.26 seconds) and 400 (50.79).
Will Campbell followed with third-place finishes in shot put (13.70m) and weight throw (15.04m) for Carroll.
Peyton Thomas was third in the triple jump (12.73m).
Carroll's 4x400 relay team (comprised of
Jared Kniola,
Ethan Weber,
Sawyer Caves and
River Sterud) added a third-place finish with a time of 3:40.69.
Other individuals contributing top-eight finishes for Carroll were:
Gabe Smith, fourth in weight throw (14.85m);
Ethan Zilisch, sixth in high jump (1.76m);
Spencer Kirsteatter, seventh in mile (4:33.03);
Jared Kniola, seventh in 60 hurdles (9.35) and Reusser, eighth in weight throw (13.88m).
