SMYRNA, Tenn.  - The Carroll University women's bowling team concluded its 2024 Spring Break trip by competing in the Music City Classic over the weekend (hosted by Vanderbilt University).

Carroll finished 30th in the strong 33-team field, amassing 10,888 total pins (including 3,935 in the baker scoring format and 4,328 in its traditional matches), knocking down an average of 165 pins per game.

The Pioneers finished with a 2-10 overall record in the three-day competition, highlighted by a team-high 957-883 victory over McKendree University in its second traditional match of the weekend. Carroll placed four individuals within the top 100.

Kelsey Aviles placed 60th overall with five-game combined total of 931, averaging 186.20 per game with an individual-high opening-game 200. Hannah Bartlett followed in 79th with an 880 in five games for the Pioneers, averaging 176 per game with a fourth-game high of 190. Ava Butt took 83rd with a five-game total of 877, averaging 175.40 with a second-game high of 216. Hope Minett placed 99th with an 809, averaging 161.80 with a fourth-game high 201.

The Pioneers will be back in action next weekend when they'll host the CCIW Championships on March 23-24 from Jays Lanes in Mukwonago, Wis. Carroll's first match in that tournament will be Saturday at 11:10 a.m. against Marian (Wis.).
