RIPON, Wis. - The Carroll University track and field program was well represented at the Ripon NCAA Division III Final Qualifier Meet at the Willmore Center on Saturday.
It was the final opportunity for athletes to improve upon their distances and times in an attempt to qualify for the upcoming NCAA Division III Indoor Championships to be held in Virginia Beach (Va.) on March 8-9.
Vanessa Uitenbroek finished second in the women's weight throw with a distance of 15.61 meters (51-2 3/4) and was third in shot put with 13.37 meters (43-10 1/2).
Uitenbroek, a senior from Kaukauna, Wis., is currently seeded third in NCAA Division III in shot put with a season-best 14.90 meters (48-10 3/4), established at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Indoor Championships on February 23, 2024. She is seeded 34th in weight throw with 16.66 meters set at the Ripon Winter Open on Dec. 2, 2023.
Maria Falk was second in shot put with 13.38 meters (43-10 3/4), following up on her fourth-place finish of 13.50 meters at the Carthage Firebird Finale on Friday. Falk, a junior from Oshkosh, Wis. is currently seeded 21st in shot put in NCAA Division III with an individual season-best 13.59 meters (44-7), established at the CCIW Indoors on February 23, 2024.

Spencer Kirsteatter finished third in a school-record of 10 minutes, 21.68 seconds, shattering the prior mark of 10:30.10 set by Kieran DeGroot, Grant Marton, Jacob Sundberg and Jesse Koenig in 2016.
Jimmy Hinkley placed fourth in the men's weight throw with a distance of 16.35 meters (53-7 3/4) and is currently seeded 34th in the nation. Hinkley set a personal-season best of 17.72 meters at the Dick Hendricks Invitational on Feb. 10, 2024.
Will Campbell finished fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 16.28 meters (53-5).
