Elizabeth Wang scored three of her four total goals in the second quarter as the Carroll University women's lacrosse team defeated Aurora University 10-4 in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon.
It was the fourth consecutive victory of the early season for Carroll, which remained unbeaten with a 4-0 record.
Tied 1-1 at end of the first quarter, the Pioneers responded to the challenge by scoring four unanswered goals in the momentum-shifting second quarter and five in the third.
Wang, who also collected five ground balls in the showdown, scored the critical tie-breaking goal with 11:40 remaining in the opening half.
Rebecca Hallman followed with two goals and two assists for Carroll, which out-shot Aurora 19-13 in the contest.
Carley Hall and
Lauren Fricke each added a goal.Â
Abby Stas contributed a team-high six ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Pioneers, who have scored 10 or more goals in every game this season.
Devon Duym registered six saves in helping to preserve a victory for the Pioneers.
Carroll is scheduled to face Washington (Md.) College in the opener of its two-game 2024 Spring Break Trip to Sewanee, Tenn. on March 11.
