FINAL RESULTS

Steven Hermsen won three individual events as the Carroll University men's track and field team placed sixth at the St. Norbert Invitational on Saturday.
Hermsen won meet titles in the discus with a distance of 57.74 meters (189-5), shot put with a winning attempt of 16.65 meters (54-7.50) and the hammer throw with a first-place effort of 56.84 meters (186-5) as Carroll's throws squad generated 50 points in the 10-team meet.
The three-time defending NCAA Division III national champion is currently ranked number one in the nation in the event, 12th in shot put and 20th in hammer throw.
Jimmy Hinkley was second in the hammer throw with a distance of 54.38m (178-5) for the Pioneers. He is seeded sixth in the nation.
Other individuals within the top eight for Carroll were:
Will Campbell, third in discus 44.99m (147-7) and fourth in shot put 13.86m (45-5.75) and
Gabe Smith, eighth in discus 41.02m (134-7).
Several Pioneers competed at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Drake Alternative on Thursday. No team scores were kept in the competition.
Peter Marra was second in the 400 hurdles (56.26 seconds) and was sixth in the 110 hurdles (15.33).
Nathan Raatz followed with a third-place finish in the 400 in a time of 49.50 seconds.
Carroll is scheduled to compete in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Outdoor Championships at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. May 3-4.
