DES PLAINES, Ill - The Carroll University women's bowling team turned in a strong performance at the 2025 Windy City Classic, hosted by Valparaiso from October 31–November 2. Facing a competitive 14-team field, the Pioneers finished sixth overall with a total pinfall of 8,756 and an average of 175.1 pins per game.
Carroll posted a 7–3 record in match play, starting the weekend with a Baker victory over Carthage and continuing with wins against Elmhurst, Western Illinois, and Alabama A&M. The team's highlight came in the final traditional match, where the Pioneers rolled a tournament-best 1,009 pins to defeat Marian University.
Individually, Miley Brooks led Carroll with a standout performance, finishing eighth overall among all competitors. Brooks totaled 985 pins across five games (197.0 avg), including a tournament-high 269 game in her second outing. Natalie Hirsch added a strong 916 series (183.2 avg), while Ava Butt contributed 874 pins (174.8 avg). Freshman Hannah Bartlett chipped in with a four-game total of 667 (166.8 avg), and Samantha Sciortino recorded 653 pins (163.3 avg).
The Pioneers showed resilience throughout the weekend, bouncing back from a tough loss to Wright State with improved scores in later rounds. Carroll's ability to close strong in traditional play helped secure its top-half finish and demonstrated the team's depth and consistency.
Carroll returns to action later this month looking to build on its success and continue climbing the regional rankings as they take part in the first CCIW Conference Invite in Waukesha.
