NAPERVILLE, Ill. - For the second consecutive week, Carroll's women's lacrosse team has earned both the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive and Defensive Student-Athletes of the Week. Freshman
Abby Tubbs earned the offensive award, while Senior
Grace Tumilty did so on the defensive end, as that duo helped the Pioneers win both of their games last week by a combined score of 35-6.
In those two wins, Tubbs scored a combined nine goals on 13 shots. In Wednesday's 18-0 win against Elmhurst, Tubbs scored two goals and assisted on two others. She followed that up with a career-high seven goals in Saturday's 17-6 win at North Central (IL). The Middleton, Wis. native also recorded one ground ball in each game.
Tumilty was also instrumental in last week's success for the Pios, tallying eight ground balls, five caused turnovers and four draw controls in the two games combined. She played a key role in Carroll earning its first shutout since March of 2024 in Wednesday's win against Elmhurst.
The Pioneers, who have already clinched the top seed in next week's CCIW Tournament, will close out their regular season Saturday at Augustana, as they'll be going for their first undefeated conference season in program history.
