The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, were announced Tuesday morning, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Carroll received the maximum five selections on this year's team, as seniors
Riley Pavelka and
Kiana Johnson, Junior
Kali Stanchina, and sophomores
MK Dusza and
Jenna Andler earned the distinction.
Johnson is the only one of Carroll's five selections that is making a return appearance, after earning a spot on the CSC's Academic All-District team a year ago. A Business Administration major and infielder from McHenry, Ill., Johnson batted .236 this season with two doubles, eight RBI, three stolen bases, and 17 runs scored.
Fellow senior, pitcher
Riley Pavelka, is also an Academic All-District performer this season. As the ace of the Pios' pitching staff, Pavelka compiled an 8-7 record, to go along with a 3.63 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, six complete games, and one shutout. The Public Health major from Naperville, Ill. also recorded a team-high 81 strikeouts, against just 33 walks in 100.1 innings of work.
An infielder from Norway, Mich., Stanchina is making her first Academic All-District performance. The Exercise Science major had a great season for the Pioneers, finishing with the team's second-highest batting average (.358), to go along with 13 RBI, eight runs scored, and an on-base percentage of .500.
Andler is a sophomore catcher from Lockport, Ill., who is majoring in Exercise Science at Carroll. She finished the 2025 season batting .222 with four doubles, which was tied for second on the team. Andler also drove in eight runs and scored 12 more for the Pios.
Dusza is a sophomore Political Science major from Longmount, Colo. After transferring prior to the school year, Dusza batted .291 for the Pios, with a team-high 20 RBI. She also finished the year with 32 hits, including one double, while starting all 36 games for Carroll.
First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17, 2025. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
