Abby Curtis Named Second Team All-Conference

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) released its annual Softball All-Conference team Wednesday morning, with Junior Outfielder Abby Curtis serving as Carroll's lone representative. This marks Curtis' second career All-Conference selection, after also earning Second Team honors last season.

A native of Oshkosh, Wis., Curtis started 35 of the team's 36 games this season, leading the Pios in batting average (.393), hits (44), total bases (46), walks (15), and OPS (.876). She also finished second on the team in stolen bases (11), on-base percentage (.500), and runs scored (20), while adding two doubles, six RBI, and a slugging percentage of .411. Curtis finished the season ranking seventh in the CCIW in sacrifice bunts (6). Her hits, walks, and stolen bases all rank in the top 10 in program history for a single season.

With one year of eligibility remaining, Curtis will enter her senior season next year raning third in program history for career batting average (.367). Already the program's record-holder for career stolen bases (56), Curtis also ranks sixth all-time in both hits (127) and walks (38), while also ranking 10th in runs scored (55).

Also a part of the annual All-Conference awards for each sport every year is the CCIW RESPECT Award winners, with each school receiving one honoree. This year's RESPECT Award recipient for Carroll's softball team is Sophomore Catcher Jenna Andler. The Lockport, Ill. native batted .222 this season, with 20 hits, including four doubles, eight RBI, and 12 runs scored.
