Carroll Women's Lacrosse Receives Four Academic All-District Selections

The 2025 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, was released Tuesday morning, with Carroll's Women's Lacrosse team receiving four selections, recognizing the nation's top student-ahtletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. Earning the distinction for the Pios includes Grace Tumilty, Devon Duym, Samantha Hurd, and Lauren Fricke. That quartet helped lead Carroll to its first-ever outright CCIW regular season championship, and second overall, while also winning the CCIW Tournament for the first time in program history, which advanced them to the NCAA Division-III Tournament for the second time in program history.

A Senior Biology major from Willowbrook, Ill., Tumilty is making her second consecutive appearance on the Academic All-District Team. Also named First Team All-Conference, All-Region, and Honorable Mention All-America this season, Tumilty was the anchor of a defense that led the CCIW in Goals Against Average (6.71). Last year's CCIW Defensive Player of the Year, Tumilty led the league in ground balls with 77, which ranks fifth in program history for a single season, while also leading the conference in caused turnovers with 67, which ranks second in program history, just seven shy of the single season school record.

Duym is a sophomore Environmental Science major from Mundelein, Ill. Also a First Team All-Conference selection as one of the premier Goal Keepers in the CCIW, Duym led the conference in Goals Against Average (6.83), while also ranking tied for sixth in save percentage (.477) and eighth in saves per game (3.94).

A Sports Administration major from Washington, Ill., Hurd is a two-time First Team All-Conference selection. The Junior Midfielder finished this season ranking eighth in the conference in draw controls (47), while finishing the regular season with 18 goals, which ranked fifth on the team, and four assists. Hurd's 19 points this season ranked seventh on the team. She helped the Pios on both end of the field, ranking third on the team in both ground balls (28) and caused turnovers (22).

Another First Team All-Conference selection, Fricke is a Midfielder from Schaumburg, Ill. The Sophomore Exerise Science major started all 15 games for the Pios this season, ranking third on the team in goals (24), fifth in assists (7), and fourth in points (31). She also ranks fourth on the team in both ground balls (26) and caused turnovers (14).

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
