Carroll senior forward Natalie Gricius has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the second time this season, adding to a busy week of honors. In addition to the CCIW Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor she earned on Monday after powering the Pioneers to a pair of conference victories, D3hoops.com recognized the strong efforts of Gricius.
Gricius averaged 26.0 points and 10.5 rebounds on 65% shooting from the field (19–29), 50% from three (3–6), and 73% at the line (11–15) across two games.
She opened the week with a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double in an 88–83 win over Elmhurst (8–14 FG, 1–1 3FG, 2–5 FT), adding 1 assist and 2 steals as Carroll led by as many as 30 and held off a late rally. Three days later, Gricius delivered a dominant performance in an 82–64 victory over Millikin, piling up 33 points and 11 rebounds on 11–15 shooting with 2–5 3FG and 9–10 FT, plus 3 assists and 3 steals.
Behind Gricius' week, #20 Carroll improved to 10–4 overall and 4–1 in the CCIW.
These recognitions mark the second D3hoops.com Team of the Week and second CCIW weekly award for Gricius this season, underscoring her status as one of the league's premier performers and a consistent catalyst for the Pioneers.
