BETTENDORF, IA – The Carroll University women's bowling team turned in a solid performance at the 2026 Viking Classic, finishing fifth overall in a competitive field that featured several nationally recognized programs.

Carroll posted a 4–4 overall record during the tournament and totaled 8,191 pins across 45 games, averaging 182.0 pins per game. The Pioneers finished behind Valparaiso, Central Missouri, Lewis, and Aurora, while edging Quincy, Augustana, Carthage, and Edgewood in the final standings.

The Pioneers advanced through bracket play on Sunday before being eliminated, securing fifth place following a strong showing in both traditional and baker formats.

Individually, Carroll was led by Ava Butt, who delivered a standout tournament and captured the individual title. Butt rolled a five-game total of 1,006 pins, averaging 201.2, to finish first overall in the individual standings. She was consistent throughout the event, recording scores of 192, 234, 180, 211, and 189.

Carroll also placed a second bowler in the top three, as Miley Brooks finished third overall with a total pinfall of 986 and an average of 197.2. Brooks recorded multiple high games during the tournament, including a score of 225, helping anchor the Carroll lineup.

Additional scoring for the Pioneers came from Samantha Sciortino, who finished 14th individually, and Hannah Bartlett, who added depth across multiple games. Carroll's balanced lineup allowed the team to remain competitive throughout pool play and into bracket action.

The Viking Classic performance continues a strong stretch for Carroll women's bowling as the Pioneers prepare for their next competition later this month.
