ELMHURST, Ill. - Carroll Men's Tennis delivered a dominating performance today behind great play throughout the lineup, with the team only dropping 2 sets total in their sweep over Elmhurst.
In doubles,
Andrew LaBelle and
Ryan LaBelle made quick work, winning the #1 spot 6-0.
Nate Christensen and
Felix Persson followed suit, with a another solid performance in a 6-1 victory to take the doubles point at the #2 spot. The #3 spot was a walkover due to Elmhurst having only 4 available players.
In singles,
Andrew LaBelle continued his strong play in the spring season at the #1 spot with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win.
Ryan LaBelle then took his match at the #2 spot with a 6-1, 6-0 win which would be the only other set the Pioneers lost on the day.
Felix Persson went 6-0, 6-0 at the #3 spot and
Layton Carls did the same at the #4, with the 5 and 6 spots being walkovers.
Although Elmhurst did not have a full roster, it was still a dominating performance as Carroll did not let up at any spot in the order. This was the first match of the conference season and a triumphiant start for the Pioneers, which they will look to build on as they travel to North Central this Friday at 11:30am as they continue conference play.
