WAUKESHA, Wis. — Carroll University women's lacrosse junior Elaina Phaneuf (Cross Plains, Wis.) was named the CCIW Offensive Player of the Week following a dominant performance in Carroll's conference victory over Illinois Wesleyan.
Phaneuf led the Pioneers' attack with a game-high six goals in Carroll's 22–3 win over the Titans on April 11. She scored multiple times in both the first and second quarters, helping Carroll build a commanding early lead and seize control of the contest.
The junior midfielder was efficient and aggressive throughout the game, finishing with six goals on 12 shots while consistently pressuring the Illinois Wesleyan defense. Her scoring outburst was part of a balanced Carroll offensive effort that produced 22 goals on 45 shots, but Phaneuf set the tone early with three goals in the opening quarter.
Phaneuf's performance helped Carroll improve to 11–2 overall and 2–0 in CCIW play, as the Pioneers continued their strong start to conference competition.
Carroll will continue conference play later this Saturday at home against Augstana for senior day as the Pioneers look to build on their momentum.
