DUNDEE, Ill. — The Carroll University women's golf team opened its spring invitational season with a strong showing Saturday, placing fifth out of 18 teams at the Judson Spring Invitational.
The Pioneers displayed solid balance across the lineup, finishing the event at +70, just 26 shots behind team champion Lake Forest in a deep field. The consistent scoring helped Carroll secure a top-five finish and provided an encouraging start to the spring season.
Carroll was led by semester transfer Scarlett Lindgren, who turned in an impressive round of 82. Lindgren's performance placed her tied for fifth overall in a field of more than 100 golfers, marking a strong invitational debut in Pioneer colors.
The Pioneers continued to build their team total with solid rounds throughout the lineup. Lynea Sekany and Emily Brokl each carded rounds in the 90s, while Lauren Lostetter anchored the group with a 92. The balanced effort proved key as Carroll held its ground among a competitive field.
Competing as individuals, Tessa Lawson shot a 97, while Gabby Hauser and Grace Knilans followed with rounds of 100 and 105, respectively.
Overall, the event served as a strong tone-setter for the spring schedule, with the Pioneers battling through cold temperatures and challenging winds throughout the day.
Carroll returns to action on April 14, when the Pioneers host the BrewCity Battle at Wisconsin Country Club in Milwaukee.
