Men's Tennis Falls at Lake Forest

Lake Forest, Ill. – The Carroll University men's tennis team lost 2-7 yesterday to the hands of Lake Forest College.
 
In doubles, all three Pioneer duos were beaten. Luke Barter/Sam Fay gave their company a run, but couldn't overcome and fell 6-8. Joseph Harrison/Lucas Nay fell 4-8, and Brian Trefliek/Michael Rose were defeated 3-8.
 
In singles, the men were able to supply two wins behind the efforts of Harrison and Rose. Harrison faced a grueling matchup, going all the way to the third set. After falling in extra rounds in the first set (6-7 (4-7)), he bounced back with a 6-1 second set, and a final tie breaker of 10-7 to take the victory. Rose gained his first collegiate win, with a decisive two set finish (6-3, 6-3). Nay faced adversity and tried to come back like Harrison, but fell in three sets (3-6, 6-1, 10-7). Bater, Fay, and Trefliek fell in straight sets to their opponents.
 
The men will have their first home match against Wisconsin Lutheran College on Feb. 23, taking place in Elkhorn, Wis..
