For the second time in three weeks, Carroll's women's soccer team has received the CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week award. The Pioneers' latest honor came Tuesday, as Goal Keeper
Caitlin Fitzsimons earned the distinction, as released by the conference office.
Fitzsimons helped Carroll to a pair of wins in two games last week, including a 2-0 win against #19 Loras College, which marked the first win against a ranked opponent in program history. The Exercise Science major from Chicago played all 180 minutes in goal during the week, recording a combined seven saves, while facing 20 shots, including 14 against Loras.
Those two shutouts gives Fitzsimons four on the season and nine in her career, which is tied for seventh in program history.
