NAPERVILLE, Ill. -
Vanessa Uitenbroek, a senior from Kaukauna, Wis., captured a prestigious individual conference title in the women's shot put with a record-breaking distance of 14.90 meters (48-10 3/4) as the Carroll University track and field program completed Saturday's final day of competition in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Indoor Championships at Al B. Carius Track (hosted by North Central College).
With the stand-out performance, Uitenbroek achieved a CCIW season-best record, personal-best mark and moved into second-place in NCAA Division III in the event. She also established a Carroll indoor record in the process, shattering her own prior mark of 14.30 meters (46-11) set at the Red Hawk Open in 2022.
Rebekah Buboltz finished third overall in the 800-meter run, clocking a time of 2:19.11.
Maria Falk was fourth in shot put with a distance of 13.59 meters (44-7), while Carroll's 4x400 relay was eighth with a time of 4:12.87.
Carroll finished ninth in the women's competition and seventh in the men's portion of the meet.
Nathan Raatz finished third in the 800, clocking a time of 1:55.05 to help lead the Carroll men.
Brady Reusser was fourth in shot put 14.78m (48-6) and the Carroll 4x400 relay was seventh with a time of 3:31.48.
